Quarterly Net of Florida’s Memorial Healthcare Less Than Half of Last Year’s

Net income of six-hospital Memorial Healthcare System in Florida dropped by more than half in its fiscal third quarter that ended on Jan. 31, according to a report by the South Florida Business Journal.

Memorial earned $20.8 million on revenue of $338.6 million in the quarter, compared with net income of $47 million on revenue of $327.4 million in the same quarter a year before.

The biggest change was a $22.7 million reduction in tax revenue and other non-operating gains, while the cost of salaries, employee benefits, professional fees and supplies increased.
