Providence Medical Group Consolidates Two Anesthesia Groups

Spokane, Wash.-based Providence Medical Group has acquired two anesthesia groups and will combine them into a new unit, according to the Spokesman-Review.

Previously, the anesthesia units worked at Providence Sacred Heart and Providence Holy Family, two hospitals in the medical group’s system. Now the operation will be called Providence Anesthesia Services and will consist of 39 anesthesiologists and 94 certified registered nurse anesthetists, according to the report.

Alan Rietz, MD, has been appointed the medical director for the group.
