President of Wisconsin Hospital Resigns

Michael Hammer has resigned the presidency of 73-bed Good Samaritan Health Center in Merrill, Wis., to look for jobs outside 16-hospital Ministry Health Care, which runs the hospital, according to a report by WSAU TV.

Mr. Hammer served the hospital for 18 years and oversaw its transfer from Catholic Health Initiatives to Milwaukee-based Ministry Health Care in 2005.

Kris McGarigle, vice president for patient care services at the hospital, will serve as interim president while Ministry searches for a permanent replacement.
