President of Arizona’s University Medical Center to Retire

Greg Pivirotto, president and CEO of University Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz., will retire on Jan. 31, 2010, according to a UMC news release.

Mr. Pivirotto led UMC for 21 years, and during that time, the hospital has received numerous recognitions, including its recognition as one of the 10 Best Hospitals in America by Becker’s Hospital Review.

Kevin Burns, CFO of UMC, will succeed Mr. Pivirotto as CEO and president in January.
