Parkview Health (Fort Wayne, Ind.). As a nonprofit, community-based health system, Parkview serves a population of 820,000 people and is the region’s largest employer with more than 10,000 employees. The system traces its beginnings back to 1878, when Fort Wayne City Hospital opened its doors. Parkview officially became a health system in 1995 and now includes seven hospitals and a physician group. Parkview Health System also includes the Parkview Foundations to support the system’s mission and ability to provide quality care. This year, Advisory Board gave Parkview its Workplace of the Year award for the third time, and Truven Health Analytics named it among the 15 Top Health Systems for 2017.
