Overtime Underpayments Could Cost Miami Hospital $1.6M

Recently installed payroll software has discovered as much as $1.6 million in underpayments for employee overtime at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, according to CBS 4 News.

The mistake, which affected 7,844 of 11,900 employees during two years, was discovered by Lawson software installed March 21 as part of a $20 million project to upgrade the hospital’s payroll system.

The individual amounts were so small that they previously escaped detection at the 1,550-bed public hospital, operated by Miami-Dade County.
