Edmond Medical Center will merge with OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and operate under its name. After the merger is complete, the two facilities will operate with one medical staff and one board of trustees. Both hospitals are currently managed by HCA, according to the report.
As part of the merger, OU Medical Center has committed $17 million toward renovations, which will include surgical floor upgrades, 10-13 additional patient rooms and the reopening of the obstetrics department, which has been closed for the last five years, according to the report.
