OhioHealth and Anthem announced their new agreement Oct. 7. Under the arrangement, OhioHealth’s 12 hospitals and physicians will be considered in network for Anthem Medicare Advantage members, meaning members can access treatment at lower out-of-pocket costs.
In October 2018, reports surfaced that OhioHealth and Anthem had hit a contract impasse. At the time, about 11,000 patients faced losing access to OhioHealth due to contractual disagreements. The contract expired Jan. 1, 2019.
