Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray is requesting a 60-day delay on Mercy Health Partners’ planned $180 million purchase of Jewish Hospital, according to a report by the Cincinnati Business Courier.
Mr. Cordray is asking for a plan on how the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati would provide care if the Jewish Hospital exited the alliance.
University Hospital, another alliance member, has complained that it helped subsidize Jewish Hospital’s profitability, making Jewish a desirable takeover target for Mercy.
