Novant Health (Winston-Salem, N.C.). Carolina Medicorp merged with Presbyterian Health Services., in July 1997 to form Novant Health. The health system has actively expanded since then, and currently includes 14 medical centers and more than 470 other locations providing outpatient services. The health system provides care to around 4 million patients each year. Novant Health’s network includes 1,500 physicians and more than 25,000 employees spread across four states. Last year, Novant’s overall CMS quality performance was 84 percent above the target performance and it became the first system to achieve revalidation for the HIMSS Analytics Stage 7 Ambulatory Award. Novant clinicians cared for 434,870 inpatients and performed 129,457 surgeries last year
