Nicholas Wolter, MD. CEO of Billings (Mont.) Clinic. Dr. Wolter joined Billings Clinic in 1982 to practice pulmonary and critical care medicine. Fifteen years later, he was appointed CEO, and he now oversees the system’s 304-bed acute care hospital, regional clinics, a long-term care facility, and the 10 critical access hospitals Billings Clinic manages. In addition to having served two terms as commissioner on the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission, Dr. Wolter is a former member of the American Medical Group Association and the board of directors of the American Hospital Association.
