The layoffs are part of the payer’s plan to cut 1,400 jobs to shore up finances, which it announced in July. Molina recorded a net loss of $230 million in the second quarter of fiscal year 2017, compared to net income of $33 million in the same period last year.

So far, Molina issued plans to cut 54 positions in California and 120 in Michigan.
