Minnesota Hospital Association Opposes Gov. Pawlenty’s Deep Cuts

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty is proposing to cut $347 million from the state health services budget, including Medicaid, and remove 21,500 people from the state’s MinnesotaCare program, according to a release from the Minnesota Hospital Association.

Rather than make such deep cuts in healthcare services, the hospital association proposes:

 

  • making proportionate cuts across all state services;
  • leveraging federal Medicaid funding to Minnesota by maximizing the state’s share; and
  • finding new revenues.
