Michigan Replacement Hospital Involves Collaboration With Chippewa Tribe

Mackinac Straits Health System is about to open a $27 million replacement for Mackinac Straits Hospital & Health Center in St. Ignace, Mich., according to a report by the Petoskey News.

The facility is a collaboration between the town of St. Ignace, Mackinac County and the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians, who donated land valued at $1.2 million in exchange for healthcare services at the new facility.
