Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, Humana reach network agreement

Memphis, Tenn.-based Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare and Louisville, Ky.-based Humana inked an agreement to allow the insurer’s Medicare Advantage members to access the health system at in-network rates.

The agreement, which took effect Jan. 1, stated all of Methodist Le Bonheur’s adult hospitals would be considered in-network for members.

Doug Haaland, regional president at Humana, said, “expanding our network to include Methodist Healthcare offers our Medicare Advantage members a strong provider network and is key to our continued growth in the market.”  

Michael Ugwueke, president and CEO of Methodist Le Bonheur, said the system is “excited to welcome Humana’s Medicare Advantage members to our Methodist Family, and look[s] forward to delivering compassionate care to help patients live healthier lives.”
