MemorialCare Health System back in-network with Anthem Blue Cross

Fountain Valley, Calif.-based MemorialCare Health System reached a definitive agreement to be back in-network with Anthem Blue Cross after cutting ties in mid-August.

The parties’ contract expired Aug. 15 and the system’s out-of-network status took effect the same day after contract negotiations ended in impasse. The agreement is retroactive to Aug. 15 and encompasses MemorialCare Health System’s five hospitals. 

“We’re reassured that Anthem continues to recognize that MemorialCare is a vital medical resource to the community,” Lori Weaver, executive director of managed care at MemorialCare, told Becker’s Hospital Review.
