The change would allow Next Gen participants and preferred providers who give beneficiaries care treatment plans to receive Medicare payment for up to two care management home visits within 90 days of a visit. The American Hospital Association highlighted the change Aug. 15.
The enhanced benefit would apply to year three Next Gen ACOs. In their third year, Next Gen ACOs will qualify as an advanced alternative payment model under the Quality Payment Program of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act.
