Louisiana Lawmakers Approve Moving LSU Services to Another Hospital

The Louisiana legislature has approved a plan to move medical education and inpatient care for Louisiana State University from 157-bed Earl K. Long Medical Center to 740-bed Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, according to a report by the Daily Reveille.

The deal ends the need to build a new $480 million replacement hospital for the aging Earl Long facility, which will be closed.
