JFK and the City of Indio, which approved the plan, have signed a “standstill agreement” stopping all construction activities on the hospital until the court rules on JFK’s request for a preliminary injunction.

JFK’s lawsuit said the City of Indio violated the California Environmental Quality Act by approving, allegedly without environmental review, Joint Replacement Hospitals of America’s proposal for the project.
