Land of Lincoln spokesman Dennis O’Sullivan said negotiations between the two “took a positive spin,” according to the report. “It has always been Land of Lincoln Health’s full intention to continue offering coverage for the University of Chicago,” Mr. O’Sullivan added.
The organizations’ tense relationship caused numerous problems among Land of Lincoln enrollees. In February, the insurer faced a class-action lawsuit from two University of Chicago Medicine patients.
However, University of Chicago Medicine is now “individually notifying all our current and former Land of Lincoln patients” about the change, U of C spokeswoman Ashley Heher said in a statement, according to the report.
