For the report, KLAS Research surveyed 420 individuals at hospitals and clinics about their experiences with interoperability. KLAS Research defined an organization that achieves deep interoperability as one that indicates optimal responses on four metrics, including often or nearly always having access to needed data and having retrieved patient data integrated into the EMR.
Here are the top five vendors for sharing data among disparate EMRs, as ranked by KLAS Research.
1. Athenahealth: 23 percent of customers indicated deep interoperability
2. GE Healthcare: 22 percent
3. Greenway Health: 20 percent
4. Allscripts: 18 percent
5. NextGen Healthcare: 13 percent
5. Epic: 13 percent
Other popular vendors KLAS Research investigated included Meditech (11 percent), Cerner (7 percent), McKesson (5 percent) and eClinicalWorks (3 percent).
