Effective March 30, delivery services will end and expectant mothers will be transferred to IU Health Bloomington (Ind.) Hospital or another nearby facility to give birth.

Indianapolis-based Indiana University Health, the parent of IU Health Paoli Hospital, cited declining birth numbers at the facility as the reason for closing the unit.

The 10 employees affected will be offered other jobs in the IU Health system. Those who do not accept other IU Health jobs will be offered severance pay.
