Highmark is currently looking to infuse $175 million into Allegheny Health Network, a Highmark subsidiary in Pittsburgh. According to the report, it’s all part of a strategic plan that includes a third outpatient center.
Mr. Holmberg said in the report that the capital improvement money will also be used to convert semi-private rooms to private rooms and update operating rooms at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Highmark is also seeking $9.1 million from the state for neonatal intensive care unit improvements at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.
