Henry Ford Health System Reports $8.5M Profit in 2008

The Henry Ford Health System reported $8.5 million in revenue for 2008, despite $45 million in investment losses, marking its sixth consecutive year of positive revenue growth, according to a report in the Detroit Free Press.

Henry Ford also reported that it spent $160.6 million in uncompensated care, up from 2007. However, patient admissions were up 1.7 percent, according to the report.

Henry Ford is an exception to the trend in Michigan hospitals, which reported an average negative 2.9 percent operating margin for 2008.
