Jay Grinney said these plans were made possible by company’s reduction of overall debt from $3.3 billion in 2006 to $1.7 billion this year and by improving income.

HealthSouth’s adjusted income from continuing operations for 2009 was $149.6 million, compared to $72.9 million in 2008.
