The winners of the 2009 awards are as follows:
- Large Hospital of the Year — Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Ga.
- Small Hospital of the Year — Camden Campus of Southeast Georgia Health System in Kingsland, Ga.
- Large Hospital of the Year (Runner Up) — Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Ga.
- Small Hospital of the Year (Runner Up) — Piedmont Newnan (Ga.) Hospital
- CEO of the Year — John Bowling of Hamilton Health Care System in Dalton, Ga.
- Legislator of the Year — Georgia State Senator Greg Goggans (R-District 7)
GACH also announced the results of its board elections. They are as follows:
- Chair of the Alliance Board of Directors — Jim Peak of Memorial Hospital and Manor in Bainbridge, Ga.
- Vice-Chair —Greg Simone, MD, of Wellstar Health System in Marietta, Ga.
- Secretary/Treasurer — Bob Quattrocchi of Northside Hospital in Atlanta.
- New Alliance Board of Directors members — Joe Ierardi of Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup, Ga., Don McKenna of St. Mary’s Hospital and Health Care System in Athens, Ga., and Michael Young of Grady Health System in Atlanta.
