The layoffs come as sales of the company’s Yoplait yogurt have stagnated. Increased competition from healthier brands have led General Mills to launch new types of yogurt, which the company hopes will increase sales in 2019.

Along with new product launches, General Mills expects the acquisition of pet food manufacturer Blue Buffalo will help grow sales 9 percent to10 percent in 2019.
