Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida reported that Manatee Hospitals and Health System has informed the insurer that it would terminate contracts for its two hospitals, effective Jan. 1, according to a report by the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
A Florida Blues official said Manatee is asking for more money than Blue Cross is able to give, but an official at the two-hospital health system said he is confident Manatee will not lose the Blues contract.
