Covered California consumers will face an average 13.2 percent rate hike next year. The lower premium hike mirrors other state-based marketplaces. According to HHS data, premium hikes on Connecticut’s state-based marketplace will increase by 17 percent next year and Massachusetts’ will decrease by 3 percent.
The highest premium hikes for plans sold on the federal exchange, HealthCare.gov, topped 116 percent in Arizona, followed by 69 percent in Oklahoma. The highest premium increase on a state-based marketplace was Minnesota’s 59 percent hike.
