Ex-BCBS Association CMO to head up innovation at prior authorization company

Trent Haywood, MD, the former CMO of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, took a new role at a company providing benefit check and prior authorization technology to clinical labs, home infusion and providers at other alternative sites.

At the company, called Myndshft Technologies, Dr. Haywood will serve as head of product strategy and innovation. As part of Myndshft’s executive team, Dr. Haywood will help the technology company expand into the payer and benefits management market.  

Previously, Dr. Haywood became CMO of the BCBS Association in 2012. In his role, he led the development of medical policy, technology platforms and clinical programs for the association’s federation of 36 independent health plans. He was also president of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Institute, a unit focused on addressing social determinants of health for BCBS plans.
