Doctors Call for Ouster of Houston Healthcare System’s President

Following the failure of Memorial Hermann Healthcare System’s plan to sell a hospital, medical staff at the hospital want the system’s president, Dan Wolterman, to be dismissed from office, according to a report by the Houston Chronicle.

In a meeting, 62 physicians from Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, the hospital that would have been sold, unanimously passed a proclamation calling for Mr. Wolterman’s dismissal.

The physicians were the leading opponents of the proposed sale to Harris County Hospital District, which said it needs more clinical space to treat a burgeoning population of the medically indigent.
