Dianne Cicero, director of Imaging Services, said digital mammography — as opposed to analog (film) mammography — allows radiologists to view and manipulate x-ray images on a computer screen. This can improve the ability to view specific areas of the breast for certain patients.
Digital mammography also provides faster imaging and readings and improved care coordination, as sharing digital imagery from physician to physician is now easier.
