Cigna Health Works, which aims to forge stronger connections between patients and their coverage and care, is being offered on a select market basis for Cigna members with employer-sponsored coverage.

The program strives to provide alternatives to urgent care and emergency room use, among other initiatives. Services available to Cigna policyholders through the collaboration include access to CVS MinuteClinic nurse practitioners for acute episodic care at discounted rates, low A1C blood sugar testing and pharmacists.

Cigna Health Works also sends an electronic documentation of Cigna policyholders’ CVS MinuteClinic visits to physicians, and will provide members lacking a primary care physician a list of in-network providers.
