Craig B. Thompson, MD. President and CEO of Memorial Sloan Kettering (New York City). Dr. Thompson, a cancer researcher and clinician, had served since 2006 as director of the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania and associate vice president for cancer services of the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia before being named president and CEO of Memorial Sloan Kettering in November 2010. Previously, he was a professor in the University of Michigan’s departments of medicine and molecular genetics and cell biology and served as director of the University of Chicago’s Gwen Knapp Center for Lupus and Immunology. Dr. Thompson is a board-certified internist and medical oncologist, was elected to the Institute of Medicine and the National Academy of Sciences and currently serves as chair of the HHMI Medical Advisory Board.
