The “innovation sandbox” was launched as part of Cone Health’s ongoing partnership with Prinnovo, a local company that connects organizations and startups to form innovation partnerships. Cone Health Ventures will serve both the health system and its startup partners by combining entrepreneurial and healthcare expertise into a human-centered approach to innovation.
“Cone Health Ventures is a mechanism for our organization where we bring our collective expertise to cocreate with emerging companies,” Greg Hewitt, Cone Health’s executive director of innovation, said in the announcement. “In many cases, this kind of testing ground is more beneficial to companies than to standalone capital investment. … When we have a shared vision and infrastructure in place to cocreate with brilliant entrepreneurs, we can bring better solutions to market faster than any of us could on our own.”
