Cleveland’s University Hospitals Boosts Market Share, Plans to Add Physicians

Pointing to an increase in market share, University Hospitals in Cleveland plans to add 500 positions this year, mostly physicians, including residents and fellows, according to a release from University Hospitals.

The 829-bed system reported a 1.2 percent increase in admissions and a 3.6 percent increase in outpatient surgeries in 2008 and admissions and outpatient surgeries continued to grow in the first six months of 2009, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

University Hospitals also announced a new management structure with senior leadership organized into three areas: clinical operations, system administrative services and system staff functions.
