The hospital will employ the 33 physicians and 190 staff members of Ohio Heart, but it is not purchasing the cash or accounts receivable of Ohio Heart, according to a report from the Business Courier of Cincinnati. The hospital is also not assuming any of Ohio Heart’s liabilities.
Ohio Heart currently has offices in 18 locations. Physicians of the group will maintain their current presence and operations with The Christ Hospital and other area hospitals and healthcare providers throughout the region, according to the press release.
“We are proud to affiliate with The Christ Hospital to provide the highest level of cardiovascular care for our region,” said John Schneider, MD, FACC, president and CEO of Ohio Heart, in the press release. “By combining the resources of two comprehensive cardiovascular programs, we will significantly advance care. The synergies achieved by the alignment of these two nationally recognized medical organizations should allow our community to receive locally the most advanced cardiovascular care attainable anywhere.”
