CHI to Acquire Arkansas Health Insurer

Catholic Health Initiatives, based in Englewood, Colo., is reportedly in the process of buying QualChoice, a health insurer in Little Rock, Ark., according to an Arkansas Business report.

Executives at CHI and QualChoice did not disclose details of negotiations to Arkansas Business.

Arkansas Insurance Commissioner Jay Bradford told the publication QualChoice’s shareholders support the deal, and it could close in the next few weeks. One of CHI’s affiliates, St. Vincent Health System in Little Rock, is one of QualChoice’s shareholders, according to the report.
