Mr. Mroczkowski had served as president and CEO of the health system since 2003. He previously served as COO of Northern Michigan Regional Hospital from 2001-2003, according to the report.
Colleagues of Mr. Mroczkowski described him as a “visionary” who often was ahead of health industry experts and knew where the health system should go, according to the report.
According to an established succession plan, current COO Reezie DeVet has been appointed interim CEO.
