Prior to joining Hoag Orthopedic Institute, Ms. Reid served as assistant vice president of financial and operational positions at St. Joseph Health in Lubbock, Texas. She has more than 15 years of hospital leadership experience.

Since she became COO of Hoag Orthopedic Institute about nine months after it opened, Ms. Reid has launched a marketing team and strategic plan, including social media and public relations, conducted the first employee satisfaction survey and helped HOI achieve record operating margin and net profit while maintaining patient satisfaction scores in the 95th to 98th percentile.

Roughly two years after opening, Hoag Orthopedic Institute was named one of the top orthopedic hospitals by U.S. News & World Report in 2012, an accomplishment Ms. Reid takes great pride in because of the growth it took to get there. “As with any new, rapidly growing organization, the infrastructure had to have bench strength to scale up to higher volumes as well as attain and maintain top clinical and operational performance. I am so pleased to see how [the] HOI team has grown and embraced the challenges of growth and achieved recognition as one of the top orthopedic hospitals in the nation,” she says.

Moving forward in her new duties as CEO, Ms. Reid says her overall focus will not change. “As we embark on the journey of healthcare reform, we continue to remain focused on providing excellent clinical quality and creating increased value for our patients and payers,” she says.

Ms. Reid earned an MBA from Texas Tech University in Lubbock and is a certified public accountant.
