The Century Foundation presented some “myths” and “facts”:

Myth: Hospitals were forced to accept sharp cuts in Medicare funding. Fact: Hospitals came out the winners in health reform because they will see many more paying patients and will continue to receive some funding to treat uninsured patients.

Myth: Medicare already underpays hospitals. Fact: Some hospitals are able to generate profits from Medicare patients.

Myth: Most hospitals are efficient and have already cut waste. Fact: There is a wide disparity in hospital efficiency.
