Centene, WellCare subsidiaries win Missouri managed care contracts

The State of Missouri selected St. Louis-based managed care organization Centene‘s Home State Health and Tampa, Fla.-based WellCare‘s Missouri Care to service its Medicaid program.

The MO HealthNet Managed Care contract will start May 1, 2017.

Centene’s Home State Health has serviced beneficiaries in Missouri since July 2012, and had 102,900 as of June 2016. WellCare’s Missouri Care has serviced Missouri beneficiaries since 1998, and had 130,000 members as of June.  

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports UnitedHealthcare of the Midwest was awarded a third contract, replacing Aetna Better Health of Missouri, which served 274,742 members in three Missouri regions.
