Carolinas HealthCare System (Charlotte, N.C.). This health system’s history dates back to 1940, and it has grown to encompass more than 7,600 licensed beds across its more than 900 care locations, including academic medical centers, hospitals and physician practices. Carolinas HealthCare System employs almost 60,000 people and sees roughly 12 million patient interactions each year. The health system partnered with Novant Health in May on initiatives to improve access to healthcare in Charlotte’s underserved neighborhoods. Carolinas HealthCare System was the first organization in the Carolinas to achieve Stage 7 certification in its acute and ambulatory environments in HIMSS Analytics EMR Adoption Model.
