California Medicare plan adds Google Cloud, Crossover execs to board

Scan Health Plan, one of the country’s largest nonprofit Medicare Advantage insurers, made two appointments to its board of directors.

Four things to know:

1. The California-based insurer named Celeste Ortiz, chief people officer of healthcare technology firm Crossover Health, to its board. 

2. Ms. Ortiz has more than 20 years of human resources experience and previously held roles at Medtronic, Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. 

3. Scan Health Plan also added Brandon Jones, head of Americas sales development at Google Cloud, to its board.

4. Mr. Jones previously led the U.S. Product Operations team for seven of Google’s technology products and spent nearly a decade in various roles at companies like Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Johnson & Johnson, and the Marsh & McLennan Companies.
