Beaumont Hospital — Royal Oak (Mich.) Campus. This Michigan hospital got its start in 1955 as a 255-bed hospital and has since grown into a tertiary care hospital equipped with more than 1,070 beds. It houses an imaging center, a medical research institute, a heart and vascular center and a neurosciences institute. Opened in 2014, the $22 million, 80,000-square-foot Neuroscience Center marked the first new building on the Royal Oak campus in more than a decade. Healthgrades recognized the hospital in 2015, 2016 and 2017 with its award for clinical excellence in stroke care.
