Several Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association members are sending surveys to hospitals, asking about the payments they receive from different payors, according to an American Hospital Association news release.
Five hospitals in South Carolina and several Michigan hospitals have received the surveys.
The BCBSA told the AHA that they were not sending the surveys directly but that it "supports efforts by its members to block a public health plan option," according to the release.
The AHA stated that it is not a partner in the surveys.
