Anthem, Georgia health system hit contract snare

Gainesville-based Northeast Georgia Health System and Anthem have hit a contract impasse, according to NPR affiliate WABE.

If Anthem and NGHS don’t reach a new contract before Sept. 30, Anthem members could face higher costs to access care from NGHS facilities.

NGHS first notified patients about the impasse in May. Nearly 40,000 patients received letters warning them about the possible contract termination.
