Texas legislators took Zika funding into their own hands Wednesday by authorizing the state’s Medicaid program to pay for mosquito repellent for women, reports Herald Democrat.
Women who are pregnant or between the ages of 10 and 45 are eligible for coverage. A physician must prescribe repellent to the patient who can pick it up at their pharmacy.
Eligible women can receive up to two cans of repellent per month through Oct. 31, according to the article.
