The AMA has launched an online resource to help physicians claim part of the $350 million settlement of a class-action lawsuit against UnitedHealth Group, according to a release from the AMA.

The settlement, announced last year, covers patients and their physicians who were involved in out-of-network claims that UnitedHealth Group paid using “customary and reasonable” rates.

The AMA, the Medical Society of the State of New York and New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo led litigation against UnitedHealth Group, the nation’s largest health insurer.

The online resource provides step-by-step assistance to determine eligibility, assemble documentation and file a claim.

The settlement involves the following court-imposed deadlines this year:

July 27: Deadline for filing objections to the settlement or for opting out of the settlement.
Sept. 13: Date for the final settlement hearing to consider any filed objections.
Oct. 5: Deadline for filing a claim to share in the settlement fund.
