The newly formed ACO will provide Aetna members access to coordinated care from 800 SCCIPA physicians.

Under the agreement, SCCIPA will be rewarded for meeting efficiency, quality and patient satisfaction standards. The two organizations have also executed a risk-sharing agreement for the purpose of improving quality of care and care coordination and reducing costs, according to the news release.

“Aetna is excited to be working with SCCIPA physicians to transform patient care and build a more effective, sustainable healthcare delivery model for Santa Clara County,” said Mark Reynolds, Aetna’s president for northern California, in the news release.
